The banister's lucky...

Every day, I tell myself that I am going to start being more mindful (as opposed to mindless), yet every day, it seems that I either misplace something or downright lose it. I blame the Underpants Gnomes for the bras and underpants, but the rest of it is just me being brainless (although, to paraphrase someone, "it might help if I tried sleeping more than 2 hours a night."). Yesterday, I found myself missing my driver's license and ATM cards, which I had last seen with my money wrapped around them, as I shoved them into a pocket in my backpack. As I did so, the thought bubble of "Hmmm, maybe I shouldn't put my valuable commodities into that open pocket like I'm doing!" briefly came into existence over my fluffy head, then popped. Sure enough, hours later, when I decided to put the stuff into my wallet, it was all missing.
Ouch. After many hours of turmoil, I ultimately located all of that extremely important stuff strewn around the footwell of the back seat of my car. So, it must have all flown out as I swung my backpack into the car. Nice, eh? I'm so damn lucky. I was about to start canceling my ATM cards. Damn it, Jim, when am I going to organize everything I own? I have all these wonderful boxes, just waiting to be filled with content. When, when, when?!!

Date: 2004-11-10 10:10 pm (UTC)Though I appreciate your offer to help me look for lost items, I don't think it will require a special trip to LA any time soon. ;) Now, if I end up hitting someone and going to State prison...
