then I get to try to put it back together

like you can count on bad, bad weather again..
I'm listening to CDs I didn't remember buying. I'd like to buy more music, but it's not a huge priority. I go through huge lengths of time where I don't listen to anything at all. Then I'll listen to one CD, over and over again. Anyway, here's a whole mess of stuff that's falling apart.
So, when I left LA to go north a month ago, I decided to be a good little Californian and turn off the fridge to "conserve energy." After all, I'd be gone for a while and it would just be standing there, empty. I was so very proud of this "energy-smart" decision, and was telling the SO about it once I was 400 miles away from the fridge. He said, "did you defrost it first?" D'oh! Well, no, I hadn't.
So I didn't even want to look at it when I got in, but there wasn't the giant pool of water around it that I had feared. Perhaps all that water had evaporated? I opened it up... times like this, I wish I had a digital camera. I'm certain that several new life forms could have been recorded for science. Gray, green, and black hairy mold all over the inside of the fridge... the box of corn starch was... well, let's not even go there. But still, no water... I then pulled on the freezer tray. Ah, there's all that slimy, moldy, brackish water!
My weak little arms were not able to sustain the weight of the freezer tray filled with water, so, soon enough, the water was mostly on me and on the floor, and I spent half the day mopping and trying to air out the kitchen.
Of course, all the pipes had somehow rusted and nothing came out from the sinks and the shower except water that looked like blood. Not only that, but, as I discovered this morning, the tub isn't draining all too well, so it's just gross. It looks like I've been trying to get rid of a body -- all these suspicious red stains... Precious.
