I woke up to an email from cheesehead1701 that Aja had died this morning. Aja was another grande dame of the cat world, a lot like Vassilissa in some ways. She was a force of nature, an unforgettable cat who traveled everywhere that cheesehead1701 did, even to Japan.

Back in 2003, when they lived with me, Aja was so clingy that I got to calling her Barnacle Betty. She annoyed me with her clinginess at times, but we had some pretty hilarious moments. I missed my girls both so much when they left.

I still miss them both so much.

2008 really has not been a good year in so many ways. I am glad it will soon be over. Huge hugs and love to cheesehead1701.

The roommate has taken her sea-farin' man and her clingy cat and set off for their latest adventure -- a drive to CT for the holidays.

The apartment is so bleak and empty; I am pining. I miss them. The cat didn't want to go. She tried to hide in my bed for help. She knows who gives out treats around here! Sigh. :( They'll be back -- but not soon enough.

I'm so sleepy and tired, but have to do stuff on the game, not to mention the fact that I should clean and sort stuff. I also need to work on more intellectual pursuits and get a jumps start on what I have to be writing, but all I want to do is lie there and kind of stare at the wall.

For a while, the cat was leaving me alone. Perhaps she sensed that I've been really ill... perhaps she got bored... perhaps her actual owner has been sleeping with treats under her pillow. Whatever the reason for it, I was relieved at first. Then I kind of got sad about it, then I was miffed, then I realized that at least I was getting some sleep and not getting woken up at 4:30 a.m. But a little while later, I found myself chasing the beast, saying, "Baby, please come back!" ;)

Anyway, she came back tonight, all right, all loving and full of wet nose kisses, and then she purposefully tipped over my half-full cup of tea onto my laptop, my cell phone, and a stack of Werewolf books.

*grumble*

The casualty seems to be the cell phone, which has been on its last legs for years. But I'm still really annoyed and not inclined to be very nice at all.

This really has it all. NR's cat, dirty laundry, stuffed animals, and Werewolf: the Apocalypse.
